Microsoft Account Password Activation

Upon your account being created, reset, or IT had reset your password, you will be required create a new password and possibly review/add/change your account security.

Accessing Your Account

To first access your account to change your password and account security follow these steps:

  1. Head to mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info

  2. Enter your account username/email (provided to you in your email)

  3. Enter your temporary password (provided to you in your email)

Updating Your Password

  1. Follow the steps in Accessing Your Account (above)

  2. Once entering your temporary password, you will directed to a 'Update Your Password' login screen

  3. Enter your temporary password in 'Current password'

  4. Create a new password and enter it in the 'New password' field

  5. Confirm your new password in the 'Confirm password' field

  6. Click 'Sign in' to confirm and submit your password change

Updating Your Account Security

After updating your new password, you may be asked to update your account security settings. If so, follow these steps:

  1. Click "Next" to head to the account security settings page

  2. Follow the instructions to the account security

  3. Once setup your account security, select "Done"

  4. You should then be directed to the "My Account" or "My Signin History" page

Adding Additional Account Security Options

We recommend that you add additional security options as you may not always have access to the Microsoft Authenticator or your choice of authenticator app.

  1. Click "Security Info" or head to mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info

  2. Re-signin to your account if you are directed to the login screen

  3. Click "+ Add sign-in method"

  4. Select an additional method from the dropdown

  5. Click "Add" and follow the setup instructions for that method

  6. Review your security methods once added additional options

  7. To change or delete option, simply click "Delete" - if no option, please email admin@hillcollege.org to have it manually changed
